So, I've been a Zoe fan for a while and am thrilled that she's getting such exposure now with Grindhouse.
Bits and pieces are cropping up all over the web and I wanted to try to bring together as many of the comments as I could in one place for any other Zoe fans to peruse.
Being a Brit I havent yet seen Grindhouse and am really envious of you US based fans, I have to wait until September!!
Anyway, on with the show. The list will be updated if people want, let me know ok. And apologies for any crosslinks with those already posted in the community, I tried to take out duplicates.
And thanks to the mods for letting me post this here, as I said before, just trying to spread the Zoe love.

Hi, howdy and welcome to my rambling post about White Noise The Light, to be more specific, to Katee and her role in the aforementioned film. I won't promise a concise, intelligent review of the film, if you want that go find a proper film critic. I also wont spoil anyone with plot details so don't worry (but if anyone does want to know specifics e-mail me or post to this LJ!). And at this point I suppose I should confess a few things:
1) I love Starbuck. Even in these dangerous times for those of us who openly love her and in inspite of the gloriously fucked up situation she finds herself in as of mid season 3 I still think she's the best thing about BSG, and thats even above my love of all things Papadama and Laura "Smoking Hot" Roslin. When I grow up I want to be her. My crush knows no bounds, and I never thought I'd get over Scully.... (and yes I'm straight girl, late 20's, mostly sane so its not easy to admit by devotion in public ;D )
2) I'm not a demanding film goer. All I ask for my fiver is a halfway decent story, decent acting and if I'm lucky the odd explosion and/or big fight. Of course I'm also a sucker for chick flicks and weepies, the occasional Oscar contender and a bloody good horror film once in a while (Go see The Descent if you like scares, genius film) . So basically I'll give most things a chance. Except The Avengers remake, only film I've ever walked out, something about Sean Connery in a teddybear suit still makes me shudder.
I digress.
3) Katee Sackhoff should have at least one Emmy and/or Golden Globe. That girl can seriously act. I mean really, she kills me every week, her physicality, her expression, her delivery, just brilliant. Her and EJO in the big Zak confession scene stands out still even 2 years since first seeing it. I could continue and may do later, gushing just happens when you find someone who knocks your socks off week in, week out.
So, for those of you who've read this far and disagreed with everything I've said, best leave now. If you don't like Starbuck, if you don't appreciate Katee then fair enough, we're all entitled to our opinions. All I ask is that you leave now and don't feel the need to start slagging her off (character or actress) on this LJ. Just let me have my opinion and I'll leave you to yours. Thanks.
For those of you still reading, lets talk White Noise 2.
So yes, as expected, its not an oscar contender, its not gonna trouble the more cerebral film critics and I have no doubt there will be miserable buggers out there slagging off eveything about it. What it IS though is an entertaining diversion for 90 minutes, a well told simmering tale with a mesmerising performance by Nathan Fillion (I think I've got another new crush starting there) and of course Katee on the big screen. ( I heard a few happy sighs when she first appeared, guess there are other BSG fans in my hometown after all!).
She plays the part really well, you forget Kara pretty damn quickly, I think after the 10th smile in 5 minutes I was converted. :-) She really has a great smile, don't see it enough in BSG. I digress again. She plays a very cool character, very of the now, very cute and one prone to wearing a dress (for those of you wanting to know!). Did I mention she plays pool? And she looks great throughout. Has to be said even if it bears no meaning to the plot!
I really bought her in this role. She plays cute and quirky really well and for my ansgt-ridden heart we also had the patented soulful eyes and quivering lip (be still my fluttering heart). Say no more so as not to spoil.
I came away wanting to see her in more things up there on the big screen. Unlike so many I really don't mind what she does, yes I will be watching the Last Sentinel regardless of its B-movie potential, I truly admire Katee's acting and want to watch her grow and move on. I have no doubt she will go on to bigger and better things, maybe not right now, but within a couple of years. There are so many utterly awful actresses out there who get so much coverage (Lohan etc) I wish I had some magic powers to start making people notice the truly great ones that come along like Katee. Good luck to her.
So there we go. Guess it turned into a Katee/Starbuck love post, but difficult to discuss a film when A) no-one else has seen it and B) you don't want to spoil an entire continent...
Go see it, enjoy and then come back and let me gush some more with you.

Was started after watching Resurrection Ship and is set in the Cain era, yes, the wonderful Admiral is still about, Gina is still on Pegasus and Leobon has not yet shown up again.
I am intending to carry on with this once my muse gets back on track!
